Carmichael are currently recruiting for an experienced Planner to join the team on a major infrastructure project based in Buckinghamshire.
Scope of works
Working with the Planning Manager, you will be accountable for the provision of expertise and systems for the planning, scheduling and project controls on the project using Primavera P6 planning software.
This project is in the development phase pre construction and you will be responsible for identifying and planning the works in at the appropriate level to inform the critical path and confirm the necessary requirements for the construction phase.
Key responsibilities include:
To manage the planning, programming and progress control as member of the integrated Construction and Logistics team comprising engineers, environmental specialists as well as planners You would be responsible for ongoing development of the civil engineering and environmental works programme in a way that it can be integrated with the subsequent rail systems works
To prepare the programme in P6 so that it can be integrated with programmes for other phases and other client programmes, and so that it can be presented at many levels and summarised for the preparation of risk schedules and for cost loading
To liaise with the engineering and environmental team, as well as the wider project team to gather the necessary schedule related information to develop the programme with as much intelligence as is practical
To prepare and present reports on programme and Basis of Schedule reports and all associated assurance documentation
Attend and contribute to Client, project and team meetings and other associated meetings
Identify schedule mitigation proposals and opportunities in conjunction with engineering and environmental team members for proposal to the client
Assist in the management of change in regards of impact on programmes and progress
About you:
Evidence of planning on major civil engineering works
P6 skills including resourcing and cost loading
Experience of working closely with Designers to ensure the timely delivery of information
Experience of working within the same programme but with multiple planning engineers
Ability to work consistently to deadlines
Able to demonstrate monitoring and reporting skills
Able to communicate at all levels
CSCS Managers Card or similar level
Understanding of Acumen Fuse with the ability to achieve scores that surpass the minimum requirements
A good understanding of civil engineering works in particular earthworks
HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering
