Our client is a Joint Venture made up of 3 major civil engineering contractors. It is responsible for delivering the £960m Chilterns Tunnels and Colne Valley Viaduct contract as part of a section of the new High Speed Rail link between London and Birmingham.
They have an opportunity for a person with a background in planning in civil engineering. You must have come from an Engineering background to be considered for this role.
The work will involve:
- Supporting the Planning Manager and work within the Project Controls function in the JV team.
- The role will require the development of the detailed design, procurement and construction programme for the delivery of the civil engineering aspects of the projects including tunnelling, bridge design and earthworks.
- Updating of the Clause 32 programme for the preliminary design.
The Person - Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Experience and an understanding of civil engineering construction methods, outputs and resources for such as reinforced concrete works (viaducts, bridges, culverts), earthworks, roads, drainage, tunnelling, shafts, piling, sheet piling, utility works, functional buildings
- A track record of planning civil engineering projects
- Proficiency in the use of the Primavera P6 planning software application and the Microsoft Office suite (Knowledge of TILOS time location software would be an advantage).
- Ability to prioritise in order to manage workload effectively
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Good communication skills and ability to express themselves openly, honestly and in a lucid way
- To be flexible, adaptable and open to new challenges
- Familiarity with the NEC suite of contracts
- Be able to work well in a team
Familiarity with Business Collaborator (EDMS software) would be an advantage.
