A long-term, inside IR35 opportunity exists for an experienced Planning Manager/Principal Planner to manage a very active portion of a major rail project in excess of £80m. You must be proficient in integrating and managing numerous rail construction programmes into the master programme. You will be required to take ownership and contribute to planning, programme and risk from the design phase through to project completion whilst managing a team of Planners.
Duties of the Principal Planner include –
- Lead, develop and resource planning hub.
- Preparation of master programs and construction programmes
- Identify project risks and analyse construction techniques.
- Prepare project forecast and risks.
- Set planning standards and audit procedures.
- Ensure close liaison with project management and site delivery team.
- Contribute to the transfer of best planning practice within the team.
Requirements for the Principal Planner include –
- First principles planning experience within the civil engineering environment specifically on rail projects.
- Experience in a similar position for a tier one civil engineering delivery contractor on rail projects.
- Preferably qualified in civil engineering with previous hands-on site delivery experience.
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Expert in Primavera P6.
