Plant Inspector – Sizewell C
Location: Sizewell C, Suffolk
Salary: £47,500 per annum + excellent benefits

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Plant Inspector to support works on the Sizewell C nuclear new build project. This role plays a key part in ensuring all site plant is compliant, safe, and fully maintained in line with strict project standards.
The Role
Working closely with the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for inspecting and supporting the maintenance of earthworks plant and site vehicles before and during operation on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting PDI inspections of all earthworks plant, including hire documentation, condition reporting and photographs
- Inspections of site vehicles including 4x4s and minibuses
- Ensuring plant safety systems are fully operational (cameras, alarms, beacons, etc.)
- Checking and replenishing fluids, grease pots and consumables
- Routine inspection of tyres, GET and undercarriage
- Supporting fault diagnosis and reporting defects
- Producing risk assessments and safe methods of work
- Managing COSHH stores and fluid stock control
- Assisting OEM engineers with servicing and minor repairs
- Replacing cutting edges and GET
- Issuing Maintenance Permits to Work
Requirements
Essential
- CSCS Green or Blue Card
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience maintaining heavy plant equipment
- NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions
- Basic computer literacy
- Strong safety awareness and documentation skills
Desirable
- CPCS A68 Plant Mover ticket
- Welding qualification or experience
- Knowledge of Caterpillar, Volvo and Bomag machinery
