Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Post-Construction Engineer to join our delivery team on the HS2 project in Birmingham. This contract role begins in January and will run for a minimum of three months, with strong potential to continue. The successful candidate will support piling operations and manage associated concrete repair and injection works, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on site.
Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day engineering support for piling and associated civil works.

Set out works, maintain site records, and ensure compliance with design specifications.

Oversee and quality-check concrete repair activities, including:

Manage subcontractors and coordinate daily work activities.

Lead and support a small team, including a Supervisor and Operatives.

Produce and review site documentation including RAMS, permits, and ITPs.

Assist with temporary works requirements and interface with TWS/TWC processes.

Ensure all works are delivered safely and in accordance with HS2 standards.

Maintain accurate daily reports and digital records (IT-literate role).
Experience & Requirements

Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

Proven experience in piling, ground engineering, or heavy civil engineering projects.

Demonstrable experience in:

Concrete repairs (breakout and patching)
-
Concrete leak injection works
-
Management of subcontractors
-
Leading small teams
-
Strong setting-out skills and familiarity with total stations/GPS equipment.

Harness training (essential).

Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) or Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) qualification (highly desirable/essential depending on role scope).

CSCS card.

Good communication skills and ability to work independently.

Eligible to work on a Ltd company basis.
