An established engineering consultancy based close to Birmingham are searching for a Senior/Principal Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Having been established for close to 40 years, they are widely recognised as professionals within their fields which cover civil engineering, railway geotechnics, environmental engineering and mechanical & electrical.
The Senior/Principal Design Engineer they're looking to join will be based within their Civil Engineering/Geotechnical team, typical projects you can expect to work on will include the inspection and assessments of embankments, retaining walls, discovering options for remedial or upgrading works.
You'll be responsible for the preparation of project plans, implementing site surveys, coordinating and supervising the design teams, checking designs, budgetary control and ensuring works are completed to specific requirements.
About you:
- Chartered or near chartered
- 5 years+ relevant experience
- Strong geotechnical design capability
- Experience in the preparation of construction drawings
- Experience of working in the rail environment
- Experience of costing works and budget control
- Ability to work alone or in part of a team
- Knowledge of industry standard software such as Slope/W, WALLAP, REPUTE, TEDDS, AutoCAD
