Carmichael are recruiting for an experienced, Principal Line Design Engineer, for a tier one contractor.
You will be tasked with leading the design delivery of overhead line projects up to 400kV, from tender to handover
Responsibilities -
- Deliver the allocated Line Design scope of works to programme, budget and quality
- Responsible for delivery of the tender deliverables and project’s OHL scope of works and coordination of the relevant resources.
- Identify and ensure design compliance with all relevant standards, legislation, Customer requirements and contract specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review tender or contract documentation and establish the OHL scope of works
- Ensure scope of works is delivered to programme, budget and quality
- Ensure all required designs, models and drawings have an adequate level of review, checking and approval, including suppliers and subcontractors, according to Quality Assurance processes and in line with Right First Time
- Interface with other stakeholders as required for project delivery.
- Prepare the priced Schedule of Deliverables for the OHL scope of tenders, together with the associated Risk Register and list of Assumptions. Collaborate with the Planner and Engineering Manager in the production of the tender programme.
- Train, mentor and coach others and supervises their work. Contributes to identifying training needs for the team.
Requirements for this position -
- Degree qualified or equivalent in relevant subject
- 5+ years experience of OHL design/delivery
- Prior demonstrable experience of leading a design team
