Carmichaels are recruiting for a Procurement Manager to work on a major Civil Engineering Project in London

Civils and major project experience is essential along with experience of NEC contracts

Description of Activities to be undertaken

- Procurement of subcontract work packages to deliver a cost effective, competent and sustainable supply chain that will support the construction activities

- Interface with Client Commercial representatives to ensure the contractual requirements are delivered in respect of the works information

- Ensure that there is an auditable document flow to demonstrate the delivery of best value procurement

- Ensure that the procurement function is pro-active and has an input into procurement decision making by attending procurement planning meetings

- Develop and draft package procurement documentation including ITT and Subcontract forms

- Review and input into the drafting of package scope documents and tender enquiries

- Develop action plans with package delivery teams for supplier/subcontractor performance improvement


Skills and Qualifications

Qualified by experience or academically with A Levels, HNC or a Degree

MCIPS (or working towards) or an equivalent degree

Experience of working as Procurement Manager or Senior Buyer (Sub contracts, materials, and plant hire) within complex Major Infrastructure projects.

Experience of NEC 3 Sub contracts

Infrastructure supplier & product knowledge

Self- Motivated

Organised and good record keeping

Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills.

Good time-management skills
