Our client, a global contractor, are currently seeking Project Coordinators to work on a major infrastructure project in Vancouver

Responsibilities

  • Daily responsibility to ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are being followed and maintained through each phase of construction.
  • Maintain a daily diary covering all phases of the project pertaining to progress, delays, lost time, daily field changes, conditions or situations encountered which may affect the performance of present or future work.
  • Communicate with field supervision and have strong field presence to become included in all site activity.
  • Establish a thorough knowledge of plans and specifications, work schedules, production targets and procedures pertaining to changes, extra work, and claims and costing.
  • Assist Superintendents in the interpretation of plans and specifications.
  • Field contract administration of subcontracts including confirmation of payment quantities.
  • Assist in the preparation of Daily Construction Reports (DCR's).
  • Completion of quantity take-offs and purchase requisitions.
  • Conducting time studies of production by crews and equipment.
  • Responsible for coordinating field surveys and layouts.
  • Such other specific duties and responsibilities relating to the project as assigned by their supervisor.
  • Coordinates, directs, assists, and completes the logistics operations and the related paperwork requirements for the assigned construction site.
  • Acts as the point of contact between office, site and vendors regarding project materials, arranging vendor deliveries to the construction site.
  • Oversee loading and unloading of goods; inspect and verify incoming materials against invoices and other documents, record shortages, damages or discrepancies.
  • Work closely with the construction team to coordinate with the Warehouse and make sure the material request are fulfilled on time and in an organized manner

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification with formal engineering or equivalent building construction experience and summer internship/co-op experience in construction highly desirable
  • Possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
  • 1-3 years experience in construction projects
