An excellent, inside IR35, opportunity exist for a Piling Project Engineer to manage the QA and TW on an iconic infrastructure project in Newcastle. Knowledge and experience on the sinking of large diameter rotary bored piles using bentonite or polymer would be advantageous however piling experience is essential.

 

Duties will include -

  • Raise, review, and ensure Inspection and Test Plans are implemented throughout the Project
  • Ensure site design validation and quality compliance
  • Monitor and evaluate variations in ground conditions
  • Ensure As Built information are produced, reviewed, and handed over in a timely manner
  • Raise and maintain the temporary works schedule, ensure the TW process is always adhered
  • Work with Construction Supervisor to ensure safe working is planned and executed
  • Understand the contract & tender and assist in contract administration

 

Requirements for this opportunity include –

  • Must have knowledge of materials/concrete testing
  • A Civil Engineering/Geotechnical qualification or similar
  • Piling experience as gained working for a piling contractor is essential
  • Related temporary works and heavy lifting accreditation advantageous
  • Proven communication, project management and supervisory skills
  • CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid
