Project Manager Immingham Port Upgrade | Marine Works Carmichael UK

Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a major marine infrastructure project delivering key upgrades at Immingham Port. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the successful delivery of complex marine and civil engineering works on a flagship UK port development.

Working for a leading specialist contractor, you will take full responsibility for the safe, timely and profitable delivery of marine construction activities, managing multidisciplinary teams and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of marine and civil engineering works across the project lifecycle.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client and key stakeholders.
  • Manage all aspects of project performance including safety, programme, quality, commercial and people management.
  • Develop, maintain and drive construction programmes to achieve contract milestones.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials, marine resources and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
  • Oversee the production and approval of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Construction Phase Plans.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, procurement activities and cost controls.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks whilst proactively managing opportunities and change.
  • Lead project reporting, progress meetings and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Ensure technical, contractual and commercial requirements are fully understood and delivered.
  • Drive a positive culture focused on safety, quality, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Manage marine operations interfaces including temporary works, lifting activities, marine logistics and specialist subcontractors.
  • Ensure works are delivered in compliance with environmental constraints and permit requirements associated with marine construction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering major marine, port, harbour, coastal or heavy civil engineering projects.
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager on schemes valued at £10m+.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Excellent programme, commercial and risk management skills.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of marine construction methodologies including quay walls, jetties, dredging support works, piling, reinforced concrete and associated infrastructure.
  • Strong stakeholder and client management capability.
  • SMSTS, CSCS Black Card and First Aid preferred.
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
