We are looking for someone to who can work on their own initiative and has a history of managing multiple small projects at a time.

 

Notes about role:

  • Flexible working offered; will still need to travel to sites (4 schools around Essex)
  • Ideally candidate will have experience managing contracts / contractors / themselves and technical background / understanding of hard FM
  • Experience managing multiple small projects; total value is less than £1 million
  • Health and safety understanding
  • Could be flexible on rate for the right candidate
  • Could be potential for temp to perm

 

What we need from you…

Qualifications

Essential

  • Technically qualified to minimum of HNC (Building/Mechanical/Electrical) or relevant Degree plus 10 years’ experience in the management of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • H&S qualification e.g. IOSH H&S Managing Safely certification or SMSTS certificate.
  • CSCS card or equivalent.
  • Must be able to achieve DBS, SC, DV clearance as required.

 

Other qualifying requirements

  • Desirable to hold professional qualification in building related discipline or Project Management.
  • Confident and outstanding communicator at all levels

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Working towards professional qualification in building related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience working to British Standards and current regulations.
  • Must have experience in leading and delivering H&S excellence and champion Injury Free Environment initiatives.
  • Minimum 5 years working undertaking multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of several software packages including Microsoft Office suite consisting of, AutoCad, Access, MS Project, Visio and experienced in use of MIS systems and Asset Data base systems.
  • Responsible for the electronic management / storage of all lifecycle / small works projects documentation, including the upkeep of the tracking systems to ensure works are invoiced in a timely manner and ensure costs are recovered.
  • Proven experience of leadership and management of a diverse range of supply chain contractors providing direction and support to ensure successful delivery of projects on time and budget.
  • Robust, measurable knowledge of CDM regulations is a mandate, including fulfilment of Principal Contractor roles and the desire to successfully deliver the proposals for the new legislation.
  • Experienced fostering new relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Experienced in change management cultures, behavioural culture changes and fostering new relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, client facing and internal relationships.
  • Pro-active attitude.
  • Proven experienced in delivering multiple complex projects to a value of £1.5M, and high calibre experience of trouble shooting where required.

Working Environment

  • Normal working hours are expected, and travel is expected and flexibility will be required. The role will require regular interaction with the contract PM’s and Senior Leadership team members. Occasional travel to other sites / contracts or parts of the business including occasional nights away from home may be required.
