Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee bay replacements, concrete carriageway repairs etc on the A46. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing this project, within scope, and within budget. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of effective project management and exceptional leadership skills.

Location: Midlands

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Initiation:

    • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resources, and budget allocation.
    • Identify and engage project stakeholders and establish clear communication channels.
  • Project Execution:

    • Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure project tasks are completed according to the project plan.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and proactively implement corrective actions.
    • Manage resources effectively to optimize project execution and deliver results that meet or exceed expectations.
    • Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential negative impacts.
    • Regularly assess project risks and adjust strategies as necessary to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Communication:

    • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, team members, and leadership.
    • Foster a collaborative and open communication environment to ensure all team members are informed and aligned.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Establish and enforce project quality standards to ensure deliverables meet established criteria.
    • Conduct thorough testing and quality checks before project completion.
  • Budget and Cost Management:

    • Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
    • Take appropriate actions to control costs and avoid budget overruns.
  • Project Closure:

    • Conduct comprehensive project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
    • Ensure all project documentation is complete and well-organized.
    • Obtain final approvals and sign-offs from stakeholders and clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in [relevant field]; PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager working for a main contractor in civils and highways
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
