An excellent opportunity exists for a specialist earthworks Project Manager on a £multi-billion project. Your technical knowledge and proven experience managing all aspects of a earthworks packages from excavations to processing to rehabilitating to using, or to spoil, is sought. PM with a proven history delivering large projects for tier one civil engineering Contractors in the UK are requested to apply.
Your duties will include –
- Creating the earthworks strategy for a multibillion project
- The effective management of all earthworks in conjunction with the Materials Manager, Delivery Agent and Works Manager.
- Liaising effectively with 6 project Managers with regards to the balancing and use of the material whilst maintaining close working relationships to maximise support.
- Communicating effectively and professionally with everyone associated with the project and the wider community
- Overseeing the testing, rehabilitation, grading, and processing of material for re-use.
- Managing the logistics and delivery of materials
- Setting and ensuring H&S and Environmental standards
- Establishing, maintaining and monitoring an effective, programme-based cost management system, to facilitate financial control.
- Ensuring realistic programmes are prepared, managed, monitored, reviewed, and updated according to the requirements of the project and contract.
- Ensuring processes are in place for the preparation, review and briefing of method statements, activity plans and risk assessments and measures implemented to ensure they are reviewed and updated accordingly.
The requirements for this post include –
- Preferably a civil engineering and project management qualification
- Previous experience and performance at Project Manager level for a tier one principle civil engineering contractor on large infrastructure projects specifically managing the earthworks packages.
- Specialist technical and managerial civil engineering knowledge within the earthworks sector in excess of 1 million cubes
- Demonstrative leadership and management ability.
- Proven success managing budgets and exercising financial control in accordance with company procedures
- Detailed working knowledge of the civil engineering delivery environment and forms of contracts
- CSCS, SMSTS, PTS, APM and PPQ
