A regional based contractor is looking for a Project Manager with experience in earthworks and infrastructure.
They need a Project Manager to join their growing team, who can multi task in the management of multiple projects, providing support, direction and leadership to the site teams.
The person applying for the role must have previous experience in a similar role either as a Project Manager in a similar size company or as a Site Agent/sub-agent in a larger organisation.

  • To represent the company in the delivery of project or part of a large scheme.
  • To receive instruction on behalf of the company and to issue instruction and provide direction in order to ensure the successful delivery of project assigned by Senior Management
  • Management of each of the sites you are responsible for.
  • Timely escalation of issues to senior managers
  • Ensure all project team members align to the principles of an injury free environment.
  • Be familiar with and observe all relevant statutory provisions applicable to construction and related industries.
  • Implement the company’s procedures for dealing with sub-contractors
  • Provide an overall health & safety plan for each site, making an adequate assessment of the risks involved, and ensuring that safe systems of work and method statements are produced, followed and reviewed.
  • Prepare cost plan in conjunction with the Project QS.
  • Reconcile costs spent to date and future costs on a fortnightly basis
  • Monitor labour and plant costs on a weekly basis against planned activity.
  • Reconcile bulk materials and wastage.
  • Report additional unplanned costs.
  • Assess the impact of change and entitlement to Extension of Time (EOT).
  • Ensure programme revisions are issued to the client team monthly.
  • Ensure detailed programmes that support delivery of the main programme are produced, used and reported again at weekly team meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with the Barton Management System, quality and environmental plans.
  • Assist with audits

Skills

  • Contractual knowledge of NEC options A & B, JCT D&B, JCT Minor works.
  • Technical and management abilities
  • Organisational and management skills
  • Knowledge of the requirements of CDM regulations
  • Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets,
  • Knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental issues
