Our client a civil engineering contractor requires a Project Manager to join the major A259 Improvement Works.
The Project Manager is the most senior member of the site operations team and is the key person responsible for the successful delivery of the project.
The Project Manager has the ultimate responsibility to ensure health, safety, environmental & quality compliance as well as programme and budget requirements
 
The scheme will see sections of the A259 become dual carriageway between the new Fitzalan Link Road and the A280 roundabout.
The changes will ease congestion, shorten journey times and make it easier to reach new housing and workplaces.
 
The full list of improvements includes:
Dual carriageway between new Fitzalan Link Road and the Body Shop roundabout in both directions
Dual carriageway between Station Road, Angmering and A280 roundabout in both directions
Wider approaches and improved road markings at Station Road, Body Shop and A280
New pedestrian/ cycle paths
 
Responsibilities:
Be fully aware and understand the requirements and implications, to yourself and others, of the company’s current health and safety policy (this could apply to all the company policies)
Be responsible for updating your personal information and site information, as designated, on the company intranet (workspace)
At all times, to act professionally and promote the company’s best standards and practices
Provide operational support to specific tender as directed by the Director.
Act as Bid Manager if necessary reporting to the Director where appropriate
Ensure full understanding of complete tender documentation..
Provide programme support and written text, plans, risk assessments etc. required for tender submission.
Chair and participate in meetings, interviews etc. with subcontractors, clients and stakeholders.
Prepare the preliminary required for the tender.

Required Qualifications / Expertise:
Proven technical and project management abilities
Strong organisational and management skills
Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations
Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and implement safe systems of work
Detailed knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental issues relevant to the project environment
Sufficient experience required in construction.
