Carmichael are seeking a Planner for a major infrastructure project in Silvertown.

Experience within an MEP environment is desirable 

The purpose of this role is to oversee logistics, deploy workers, manage budgets and ensure that work is on schedule. You'll work closely with estimators, engineers, surveyors and architects to keep projects on track and manage conflicting priorities.

Minimum Requirements for the Position

Education

  •    Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field, including building management, construction engineering

Experience, Skills and Behavioral Competencies 

  • Experience: Experienced in project/programme planning. (Essential)
  •  Experience of planning in a work winning/tender team (Essential)
  • Experience from working on large-scale infrastructure projects (Knowledge of English language, maths, and geography
  • An understanding of project planning, scheduling, tracking, reporting and risk management. (Essential)
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management and Critical Path Analysis. (Essential)
  •  Knowledge of contractual issues in a project environment. (Essential)

Business Performance

  •  Creating, maintaining and reviewing a programme of work
  • Ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Liaising with surveyors, engineers and architects
  • Producing progress reports and forecasts for team members, clients and stakeholders
  • Breaking large jobs down into phases of development
  • Using project management tools to plan timeframes
  • Working with estimators to calculate the resources needed for a project
  • Planning contingency programmes in case timeframes change
  • Meeting with contractors and suppliers
  • Demonstrating knowledge of construction
  • Writing bids for tender
  • Managing several projects with the support of junior planners
  • Working between offices and construction sites
