CarmichaelUK are recruiting for a Planning Engineer on behalf of a Tier 1 client. 

 

Location : London

Salary : Competitive 

 

Reporting to the Senior/Lead Planner the candidate will need to have at least 5 years' experience gained from working with a main contractor, ideally infrastructure projects. Site experience would also be an advantage. Tasked to provide support to the project management team through the provision of an efficient and effective planning, scheduling and project performance reporting function for smaller projects or working as part of a large project team.

 

Role Accountabilities

Project

  • Ability to develop detail within an existing programme.
  • Ability to update and monitor progress within the working programme.
  • Ability to introduce change into a programme.
  • Have an understanding of how to resource and cost load programmes.
  • Have an appreciation of introduction & evaluation of risk in programmes.
  • Have an understanding of methods used for checking programme robustness.
  • Ability to provide routine and one-off programme outputs.

   

Tender Specific Planning Skills

  • Ability to assimilate and interpret information from tender documentation.
  • Contribute to bid winning strategy.
  • Working towards independently developing programme structure.
  • Develop programme content with guidance.
  • Understanding of methods for communication & transfer of knowledge post award.
  • Learning how to contribute to tender written submission.

 

Required Project Knowledge

  • Demonstrate a broad understanding and working knowledge of construction methods and outputs
  • Developing an appreciation of commercial and contractual requirements and an awareness of change
  • Proven skills in planning software, principally P6
  • Thorough experience and understanding of programming techniques
  • Have an appreciation of analytical assessment of programmes
  • Have an appreciation of evaluation of supply chain programmes
  • Understand and comply with business processes and systems.
  • Ability to work to defined timescales.
  • Gather and monitor information for both progress and feedback
  • Ability to produce and communicate programme information in a variety of forms.
