We are looking for an experienced contract QS to work on the civils package of the construction of an AD Plant in Kent. The project itself encompasses a range of heavy civils, earthworks and groundworks in preparation for full construction. This will include site leveling, construction of concrete digestate, various bases and footings, building and creation of a storage lagoon, creation of paths and hardstandings, trenching and pipework.
The ideal candidate will have a range of project experience within the major/heavy civil and highways sector.
Role and responsibilities
- Management of sub contract accounts including procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.
- Identifying, raising & pricing of early warnings in line with the change control process.
- Monthly cost value reconciliations reports.
- Cash flow - monitoring & forecast, forecasting & predictability of final costs and weekly forecasting.
- Interaction with the client.
- Manage and advise junior staff accordingly.
- Advise and assist the site team to manage costs.
The ideal candidate will have a range of project experience within the major/ heavy civil and highway sector and have the following:
- MSc/BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent construction related subject
Preferably qualified to ICES or RICS accreditation.
- A comprehensive level of commercial experience preferably with a contracting organisation.
- Should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
- Must also be experienced in commercial site management including the monthly measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations.
