CarmichaelUK are looking to recruit an experienced Project QS experienced in heavy civils / utilities to work on a Major Infrastructure Project with a Tier 1 JV in North Greenwich.
Role
This Role is required to provide commercial support to the project team, maintain commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and ensure that the projects objectives are achieved. Ensuring that structures meet legal and quality standards.
Job Description
- Reporting to the Commercial Director and Director in Charge of the Project, as necessary
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client;
- Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
- Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies;
- Performing risk, value management and cost control;
- Advising on procurement strategy;
- Identifying, analysing and developing response to commercial risks
- Preparing and analysing costings for tenders;
- Allocating work to subcontractors
- Providing advice on contractual claims
- Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
- Valuing completed work and arranging payments
- Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
- Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying / Engineering (or minimum HNC equivalent qualification)
- Experience working on major heavy civils, utilities / water packages
- Professional CIOB Membership - Desired
- Experience working on standard forms of contract
- Excellent written and verbal communication
