A unique opportunity exists for an experienced QS to work on a major port infrastructure project. The project itself encompasses a range of civils works which will include, paving, drainage, reinforced concrete structures; bridges, retaining walls and culverts etc, drainage and earthworks.
The ideal candidate will have a range of project experience within the marine/ heavy civil/ ground engineering
Role and responsibilities
- Management of sub contract accounts including procurement, payments, variations and final accounts
- Identifying, raising & pricing of early warnings in line with the change control process
- Monthly cost value reconciliations reports
- Cash flow - monitoring & reforecast, forecasting & predictability of final costs and weekly forecasting
- Interaction with client
- Manage and advise junior staff accordingly
- Advise and assist the site team to manage costs
The ideal candidate will have a range of project experience within the major/ heavy civil/ ground engineering sectors and have the following:
- MSc/BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent construction related subject
Preferably qualified to ICES or RICS accreditation
- A comprehensive level of commercial experience preferably with a contracting organisation
- Should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis
Must also be experienced in commercial site management including the monthly measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations.
