An exciting freelance opportunity has come up for a Quality Assurance Engineer to work for a main JV on HS2. This role is based out of Birmingham and is for at least 9 months.

 

Description of Activities to be undertaken

-Maintain the Joint Ventures Certification Structure to track the acceptance status of works package designs, the physical works and the completion status of the works package;

-Monitor the production of assurance deliverables by the JVs design and delivery teams with the view of confirming when the works can be certified as complete;

-Assist in the identification, co-ordination and tracking of design and assurance deliverables and progress through the review and approval cycle if required;

-Assist in the co-ordination and compilation of Field Engineering records to demonstrate the independent role of the Field Engineers;

-Track and report on Field Engineering and NEC 3 Supervisor issues and defects  for resolution for Completion;

-Undertake ad hoc review of assurance records to confirm adherence to the Engineering and Assurance Management Plan and ITPs;

-Manage and track the provision of competency evidence provided by the supply chain for certifying the design and the physical works;

-Track the status of H&S File information and if necessary its compilation including the management of residual CDM risks.

 

Minimum Qualifications Needed for Role

-Minimum degree qualified in Engineering discipline

-Excellent excel skills

-Previous experience in a QA or Handover role on a construction project
