Quality Manager - Bridge Reconstruction Projects
Are you an experienced Quality Manager looking to play a key role on major highways infrastructure projects?
We are working with a leading highways main contractor delivering a portfolio of bridge reconstructions and structural improvement schemes across the North West. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality assurance, compliance and continuous improvement activities across multiple live projects.
The Role
- As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) across a range of highways and bridge reconstruction projects.
- You will work closely with project teams, clients and supply chain partners to drive a culture of quality, compliance and right-first-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the company's Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Plan and undertake internal and external quality audits across multiple project sites.
- Lead quality assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor compliance with project specifications, ITPs, procedures and client requirements.
- Investigate non-conformances and quality issues, facilitating root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Produce quality reports, KPIs and audit findings for senior management and clients.
- Support project teams with quality planning, risk mitigation and continual improvement initiatives.
- Review and approve quality documentation including ITPs, quality plans and inspection records.
- Conduct supplier and subcontractor quality assessments and audits.
- Drive a right-first-time culture and promote best practice across the business.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager, QA Manager or Senior Quality Engineer within highways, civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001.
- Demonstrable experience carrying out internal and external audits.
- Experience working on bridge, highways, structures or heavy civil engineering projects.
- Knowledge of NCR management, corrective actions and continuous improvement processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work across multiple projects and locations.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Lead Auditor qualification.
- Experience with National Highways projects.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and infrastructure quality requirements.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution.
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or major civil engineering frameworks.
