We are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major Network Rail framework in the Oxford area.

The role will support the commercial delivery of a multidisciplinary rail scheme, incorporating civils, bridge replacements, piling, groundworks, structural steelwork, lifts and M&E works.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with infrastructure experience who is comfortable working with NEC contracts and managing multiple work packages.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day commercial aspects of the project
  • Administer and manage the NEC Option C contract with Network Rail
  • Manage subcontract procurement and package awards
  • Commercially manage subcontractors operating under NEC Options A and E, along with bespoke contracts
  • Prepare and manage client applications and valuations
  • Manage change control and compensation events
  • Produce forecasts, cost reports and internal commercial reporting
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and final accounts
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
  • Develop effective working relationships with Network Rail and supply-chain partners
  • Support project close-out and final account agreement

 

 

We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A Quantity Surveying or related qualification, including an apprenticeship route
  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction or infrastructure
  • Practical experience working with NEC contracts
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost management capability
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple packages and workstreams
  • Rail and/or highways experience
  • Experience working with public-sector clients
  • Previous exposure to Network Rail, TfL or similar infrastructure clients
  • Experience on station or wider rail infrastructure projects
  • Experience commercially managing groundworks, civils, M&E and/or structural steel packages
  • Tier 1 contractor or major Tier 2 framework experience
  • Exposure to COINS and/or CEMAR
  • Working towards, or interested in pursuing, RICS accreditation

 

The position is available on a permanent basis, with a temp-to-perm option also considered.
