Our client a major civil engineering contractors, utilities and water division require a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
They design and construct pipelines for water, wastewater and gas; pumping stations, treatment and storage facilities for water and wastewater; and buried cable, substations and converters for energy.
They are delivering schemes for Essex and Suffolk Water so previous experience working within the water / utilities sector would be advantageous.
They have offices in Cambridge and near Royston but this role will be site based towards Colchester.
Some of the responsibilities as a Quantity Surveyor:

Subcontractor procurement from enquiry through to negotiation and subcontract order placement.

Manage subcontractor valuations and payments, through to final account agreement.

Provide commercial support to the contracts team to effectively deliver projects on time and within budgets ensuring profitability

Compile and prepare internal valuations and cost reports.

Compile and agree client valuations including valuation of variations and final accounts.

Client liaison and communications.

Provide support to contracts team to ensure timely production of accurate records and supporting documentation.

Requirements:
- experience with small/medium water and utility based projects
- 5 + years in previous role
- degree in quantity surveying or equivalent
- good working knowledge of NEC contracts
- ability to work on their own and very proactive approach
