Carmichael UK are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a Tier 1 contractor on a Civils/Highway project in the Birmingham are. The role would be inside IR35 on a highways project using NEC form of contract.
Job Responsibilities:

To carry out financial control of HMPF schemes delivery, predominantly managing structures refurbishment projects, including value engineering, estimating, negotiating prices with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors.

Identifying and agreeing the value of compensation events with clients, interim valuations, final accounts and the production and management of contractual documentation, contract administration in accordance with NEC4 TSC form of contracts.

Take off from drawings from Design Team
-
Preparation of BoQ’s for build phase from drawings provided
-
Site Visits
-
Assessment of Supply Chain Responses and negotiation of terms
-
Pricing of Task Response in conjunction with Scheme Engineer
-
Production and presentation of Cost Value Reconciliations
-
Review Task Order for compliance with agreed Task Response
-
Preparation and issue of Supply Chain Task Orders & Compensation Events
-
Preparation of Early Warnings, Compensation Events quotations including Supply Chain Enquires

Submission of Compensation Event Quotations
-
Value sub-contractor applications and provide to Commercial Manager for approval.

Complete monthly liabilities.

To prepare and agree final accounts with completed quantities
-
Review of profitability.

Obtain appropriate approval for submission of Final Account

Submission of Final Accounts in line with relevant KPI
-
Review of Supply Chain Final Accounts Statements

Obtain appropriate approval for settlement of Supply Chain Final Accounts
Essential Skills / Experience:
-
Previous commercial experience in the Highways or Infrastructure related sector.

Understanding of Highways Method of Measurement.

Pricing of Commercial activities

Demonstrable experience in the control and management of subcontractors.

Contract experience using the NEC form of Contract and its various options.

Demonstrable experience in the use of IT systems for estimating, invoicing and subcontractor management

Detailed knowledge and understanding of commercial processes, including Interim Applications, Payment Certifications, Internal reporting.

General Commercial awareness.
