Inside IR35 opportunities exist for hands-on competent Quantity Surveyors on an iconic major civil engineering/rail project. As a proficient Quantity Surveyor, you will be expected to manage all commercial within your section. Candidates with early contractor involvement experience on target costs contracts, on Network Rail projects are eagerly sought.   

Your duties will include –

  • Establish and maintain commercial relationships with supply chain partners, including participation in pre-contract meetings, contract review, and contributions to subcontract documentation.
  • Handle the commercial management of subcontractors, including processing payments, finalizing account agreements, and resolving disputes through negotiation when necessary.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate production of cost performance data.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Manage change effectively, ensuring compliance with contractual timelines and notification requirements.
  • Adhere to Risk and Opportunity management protocols, providing advice to the Management Team as needed.
  • Ensure timely submission of payment applications in accordance with contractual conditions.
  • Attend and contribute to all site commercial meetings, offering commercial guidance to the site team.
  • Organize and manage your time and workload, as well as that of your commercial team, in a structured and efficient manner.
  • Uphold strict personal safety and environmental standards in line with Company policies.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with your team.
  • Oversee, guide, and support your direct reports.

 

 Requirements for this opportunity include –

  • A Quantity Surveying qualification or similar
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor for a tier one principal UK contractor showcasing strong core commercial skills.
  • Capable of building and sustaining cooperative relationships with the project team, including the Client, Project Managers, Designers and the supply chain.
  • Experience working on large UK infrastructure projects especially JVs for metro rail
  • Experienced in target cost, NEC and the Network Rail suite of contracts
  • Confident in working as part of a team and able to positively impact project outcomes.
  • CICES or RICS membership or working toward
