Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Subcontractor – Nationwide Projects)
Location: Hybrid (remote with travel to various UK sites as required)

About the Role:
CarmichaelUK is working on behalf of a well-established and growing subcontractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support their expanding workload across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a variety of construction projects in a flexible role that combines remote working with site visits when necessary. Drainage experience
You’ll be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual elements of multiple projects, ensuring value and control throughout the delivery process. This is a remote-based role, but you must be willing to travel to different locations nationwide for key meetings, valuations, and site inspections.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee commercial management of multiple projects at varying stages of delivery.

Prepare and submit accurate applications for payment, valuations, and final accounts.

Monitor project budgets and costs, highlighting any risks or opportunities.

Conduct regular site visits for progress assessments and client meetings.

Manage subcontractor payments and commercial relationships.

Produce financial reports and forecasts for internal and client reporting.

Assist with procurement and tender analysis as needed.

Ensure compliance with contract terms (e.g., JCT, NEC) and relevant legislation.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a subcontractor or specialist contractor environment.

Strong understanding of UK construction contracts and commercial practices.

Capable of working independently while managing multiple projects remotely.

Excellent organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial management software.

Willing to travel across the UK as project demands require (expenses covered).

Must be set up to operate via a Ltd Company.
Desirable:

Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Membership of a relevant professional body (RICS, CIOB, etc.) is beneficial.
