Carmichael UK is working in partnership with a Tier 1 contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a high-profile highways project in the East Riding area. Some hybrid working is an option.
You’ll play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of the scheme — helping to manage costs, drive value, and oversee subcontract procurement and packages, all while ensuring commercial compliance across the board.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and update the contract cost reporting system

Produce accurate cost forecasts to completion and final value

Monitor project spend and highlight deviations

Manage subcontract procurement and administer subcontractor payments and variations

Identify and value contract variations, ensuring timely agreement with the client

Maintain robust records to support compensation events and variations

Assist with monthly cost and value reporting

Monitor project cash flow and valuation cycles
Requirements:

Proven Quantity Surveying experience within civil engineering/highways

Working knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontracting principles

Strong understanding of procurement, tendering, and change management

Proficient in MS Office and commercial systems

Excellent negotiation, communication, and record-keeping skills
-
CSCS card required
