Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support commercial delivery on the HS2 programme in Southam. The successful candidate will have proven experience in civil engineering projects and strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, contributing to the commercial management of a major section of the UK’s largest infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities

Manage commercial activities across civils work packages including earthworks, drainage, utilities, structures and highways interfaces.

Administer NEC contracts (ECC), ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, change control and early warnings.

Measure and value works, including subcontract applications, variations and final accounts.

Responsible for accurate monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and maintaining project financial controls.

Support procurement strategy, subcontractor tendering, evaluation and negotiation.

Prepare and review compensation event quotations and ensure timely submission to the client.

Maintain strong cost assurance and governance processes in line with HS2 commercial standards.

Build effective working relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, clients and stakeholders.

Provide commercial risk management and support in dispute resolution where required.

Contribute to improving commercial processes and overall project performance.
Skills & Experience

Experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC3/NEC4 contract administration.

Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple work streams in a high-performance environment.

Proficient in cost reporting systems and MS Excel; CEMAR/contract portal experience beneficial.

HS2 project experience advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar discipline (or equivalent experience).

Professional membership or working toward RICS/ICES desirable.

Full UK driving licence.
