Inside IR35 opportunities exist for hands-on competent Quantity Surveyors on an iconic major civil engineering/rail project. As a project Quantity Surveyor you will be expected to conduct on site measurements, subcontractor vetting and account management, preparation of payment certificates and producing the cost reports for your section.

 

Main responsibilities will include -

 

  • Preparation or assessment of applications, valuations, cost/value reconciliation
  • Cost control and forecasting including monthly reports: value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow and budget
  • Preparation and agreement of payment certificates
  • Maintain effective communication with Contracts Managers, Project Managers, Commercial Manager and stakeholder representatives.
  • Commercial management of subcontractors including payments preparation, final account  and provide input into dispute resolution
  • Ensure timely production of appropriate levels of applications for payments in accordance with the provisions of the conditions of contract
  • Attend and provide input to all site commercial meetings
  • Assist with the production of insurance claims
  • Provide input to risk management of projects

 

 

Requirements for this opportunity include -

 

  • Quantity Surveying qualification
  • Understanding of basic contract law and contractual obligations from a contractors perspective
  • Enhanced knowledge of civil engineering construction procedures and working methods
  • Well versed in all forms of NEC contracts, knowledge of NR suite of contracts advantageous
  • Experienced in the preparation of payment certificates and interim financial reports.
  • Member of CICES or RICS advantageous
