An opportunity exist for a Civil Engineer/Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team of a tier two contractor. The post will require estimating, take-offs, pricing, planning, tendering then subcontractor management, cost reports, monthly certificates, final accounts etc. Quantity Surveyors or Civil Engineers who have commercial experience within medium to large heavy reinforced concrete civil engineering projects on NEC are urgently requested to apply.
Whilst reporting to the Commercial Director your duties will include -
- Involved in the estimating, planning and tendering of projects
- Evaluating, appointing and managing subcontractors
- Daily costings and monthly evaluations
- Measurements, variations and certifications
- Identifying and highlighting risks
- Contracts documentation
- Final accounts
Requirements for this post include –
- A Quantity Surveyor or "Civil Engineer with delivery experience whilst involved in the commercial aspects simultaneously".
- Experience on civil infrastructure projects like highways, industrial plants, treatment plants etc that include heavy reinforced structures, earthworks and drainage
- NEC option C experience
- Hands on, commercially astute and capable of working unsupervised
