An exciting opportunity has come up for a Risk Manager to work for a main joint venture on HS2. This is a freelance role based in Birmingham.

Description of Activities to be undertaken

  • Support Risk Manager with the implementation and assurance of risk management procedures, plans and systems on the HS2 EWC Central Contract Including:-
  • Management of information and risk date on the HS2 Xactium risk management system
  • Production of reports for internal and external risk reporting
  • Review of Work Package risk management e.g. status of risks and risk responses
  • Support to Work Package teams, and supply chain, in risk identification, quantification and management
  • Support the development of risk portfolios and portfolio management
  • Review of supply chain risk registers and risk assessments
  • Recognise and feedback on inconsistencies in the approach between works packages and sector managers
  • Highlight and disseminate best practice observed during Reviews
  • Support administration and monitoring of the Early Warnings through CEMAR
  • Carry out/support Quantitative Schedule and Cost Risk Analysis using Primavera Risk Analysis and @ Risk
  • Preparation of presentations of QSRA/QCRA outputs for internal and external audiences.

Minimum Qualifications Needed for Role

  • Support proactive risk management in the CMO and WP delivery teams
  • Identify the root cause(s) of exemplary and problematic work package issues
  • Understand and promote the HS2 risk management vision
  • Identify improvements and good practice.
