A leading Highways contractor is looking for a Schemes / Highways Engineer to assist the Schemes Project Manager in the management and delivery of a cycle way scheme in the Borough of Kingston. This is an 18-month opportunity for the right candidate, and the office is based 5minutes walk from Kingston Station.
The Engineer would be required to:
- Advise design team on buildability of designs
- Write and Implement RAMS (Method Statements and Risk Assessments)
- Manage all permits and approvals for the schemes
- Produce site documentation and ensure site inductions are done
- Liaise and facilitate relationships with designers, contractors, stakeholders and client
- Resolving site/construction issues
- Arrange and chair progress meetings with contractors
- Ensure schemes are constructed in accordance to the approved design
- Enforce H & S and Environmental rules onsite
- Programming for the schemes ensuring programme dates are met by sub contractors
- Provide as built and Health and Safety File
The Engineer should have the following Experience/Skills:
- Good organisational/communication skills
- Proficient Microsoft office skills
- Ability to multi task and run multiple of contractors and schemes simultaneously
- Able to work in a team environment
- A Full Drivers licence (Clean)
- Knowledge of H & S Practices
- CSCS card holder (AQP or higher)
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar
