Our client a tier one principal contractor requires a SCL Shift Manager to join the largest section of the Thames Tideway project.
They require SCL engineering professionals to drive the delivery stages.
They are looking for Engineers that understand tunnelling and sprayed concrete lining to lead the shift works on Thames Tideway.
The works will be on a shift pattern.
Scope of Work: Shaft Sinking and Tunnelling
Duties:
Ensure that works on their shift are carried out in accordance with current H&S requirements and in accordance with the existing risk assessments and method statements
Ensure works are carried out in accordance with RAMS and that all staff and operatives are aware of the specific works requirements
Ensure that all staff and operatives are competent to carry out their required duties and arrange training as necessary
Ensure that there is always a current RESS sheet available to staff and operatives
Always attends daily SRG meetings to review excavation parameters and support requirements in light of current settlement figures
Ensure that there is a regular handover between shifts and that oncoming personnel are fully aware of all issues relevant to the on-going works
Record and incidents promptly and maintain operational records
Maintain communications with the SCL designer and site representative to ensure that the works are being carried out in accordance with the design
Ensure that required records of the construction works are kept including QA, KPIs and ITPs
Monitor and control the supply of materials to the works
Ensure that regular testing of materials is carried out in accordance with the works requirements
Experience required:
Understanding of SCL principals
Knowledge of SCL construction techniques
Understanding of temporary works supervision
Ability to manage diverse teams and sub-contractors
Understanding of shift work
Awareness of environmental conditions
