We are looking for an experienced Section Engineer to work on a major HS2 civil engineering project in Brackley.
The successful candidate must have strong experience delivering earthworks and drainage packages on large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for overseeing engineering activities within your section, providing technical leadership to Site Engineers and ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee earthworks and drainage activities within your section
- Coordinate Site Engineers and provide technical guidance to the engineering team
- Oversee bulk earthworks, cut and fill, excavation, formation and embankment works
- Manage drainage works including pipelines, manholes, chambers, culverts and associated infrastructure
- Ensure setting out and surveying activities are completed accurately
- Review construction drawings, specifications and technical information
- Ensure accurate as-built records are maintained
- Prepare, review and implement RAMS, ITPs and quality documentation
- Carry out engineering checks and inspections
- Coordinate with Site Agents, supervisors, subcontractors and other engineering teams
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works meet programme and quality requirements
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site
- Ensure works comply with project health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
Essential Experience
- Previous experience working as a Section Engineer
- Strong earthworks experience
- Strong drainage experience
- Experience delivering major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Good knowledge of bulk earthworks, excavation, cut and fill and formation works
- Experience with drainage systems including pipes, culverts, chambers and manholes
- Strong understanding of setting out and surveying techniques
- Experience working with RAMS, ITPs, QA documentation and as-built records
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience supervising or supporting Site Engineers
- Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements
Desirable
- Previous HS2 experience
- Major highways, rail or heavy civils experience
- Civil Engineering HNC, HND or Degree
- Appropriate CSCS card
- Temporary works experience
