Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways infrastructure project in Gloucestershire.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-profile scheme, working within a collaborative engineering team responsible for the successful delivery of highways and civil engineering works from planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise Site Engineers and subcontractors on site
- Ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements
- Oversee setting out activities and engineering controls
- Review drawings, specifications and construction documentation
- Coordinate temporary works, permits and work packages
- Produce and manage ITPs, RAMS, quality documentation and as-built records
- Monitor progress and provide technical support to delivery teams
- Ensure compliance with project quality, environmental and safety standards
- Assist with planning, sequencing and short-term programme management
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Section Engineer on major highways or civil engineering projects
- Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
- Strong understanding of earthworks, drainage, structures and highway construction
- Ability to manage engineering teams and subcontractors
- Strong QA and technical documentation experience
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Certificates & Qualifications
- CSCS Card
- SMSTS preferred
- First Aid at Work desirable
- Full UK Driving Licence
