The Opportunity
A leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to support the delivery of major works at Heathrow Airport. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile programme within one of the UK's most complex and operationally challenging environments.
You will take ownership of a section of works, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery while coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and overseeing a designated section of works from planning through to completion.
- Leading Site Engineers and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and on programme.
- Reviewing and implementing construction methodologies and temporary works requirements.
- Coordinating setting out, quality assurance, inspections, and testing activities.
- Monitoring progress and reporting on productivity, risks, and key milestones.
- Ensuring compliance with Heathrow Airport standards, project specifications, and health & safety requirements.
- Managing technical queries, design information, and site documentation.
- Supporting project delivery teams with programme, commercial, and engineering matters.
About You
- Proven experience working as a Section Engineer on major infrastructure, aviation, rail, highways, or civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering principles.
- Experience managing engineers, subcontractors, and multiple work fronts.
- Knowledge of QA processes, ITPs, permits, and site documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- CSCS Card essential.
- SMSTS preferred.
- Heathrow, airport, RAF, MOD, or other highly regulated environment experience is highly desirable.
