Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join a major highways project in East London. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery in the early stages of one of the UK's most significant civil engineering schemes, working alongside a leading Tier 1 contractor on complex and technically challenging works.
Responsibilities
- Managing engineering activities across designated sections of work.
- Supporting the delivery team to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction methodologies.
- Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs and quality documentation.
- Managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design and quality requirements.
- Maintaining site records, QA documentation and as-built information.
- Supporting junior engineers and site teams.
Requirements
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Section Engineer on major infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in heavy civils, highways, structures, earthworks or utilities.
- Experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors.
- Competent with setting out, quality assurance and temporary works processes.
- CSCS Card essential.
- SMSTS preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
