A freelance opportunity exist for a Section Engineer with experience gained working for a principal roads and earthworks contractor. Experience, as a Section Engineer, on the construction of new highways or major A roads projects managing the earthworks, drainage and structures packages is highly sought after.
Duties of Section Engineer will include:
- Ensuring the works are constructed according to the design and specifications
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance
- Produce and monitor weekly programs
- Interpreting and implementing of the construction process and procedure
- Monitoring and management of the nominated subcontractors
- Quality control in accordance to the specifications
- Compiling and implementing of Method Statements and risk analysis
- Produce accurate daily diaries and plant recons
- Permit clearances, RFIs, daily records, etc
- Manage Site Engineers and their duties including setting out of the works and producing As builts
Requirements for Section Engineer:
- HND or Degree in Civil Engineering
- Extensive experience as Section Engineer/Senior Engineer on A roads projects for principal contractors
- Proven management and reporting skills
- CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid
- Available to start Mid July
