Our client a major civil engineering contractor is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

There scope of the works includes 15 viaducts, 5km of green tunnels, 22km of road diversions, 67 overbridges and around 30 million cubic metres of excavation. They are looking for a Section Engineer to:

Assist with coordination, progress tracking and troubleshooting of Ground Investigation (GI) fieldworks and lab testing delivery across one of the C23 project sections

Close liaison with the relevant GI section agents from the GI delivery team on site

Close liaison with the relevant GI subcontractors and the GI laboratories to track and monitor progress and resolve issues (e.g. restricted tests, unsuitable samples etc.)

Direct reporting to the Design & Engineering Section Lead to ensure the delivery of GI information on time

Close liaison with the route wide EKFB Geotechnical Discipline, the GI Coordinator and their counterparts from the design partners JV

Manage and respond to relevant contractual communications (TQs, EWs) on CEMAR, attend Risk Reduction meetings

Supporting the link and coordination with the GI delivery team and GI subcontractors for management of GI related topics is again an essential part of this role

About You

  • Experience in construction (or preferably Ground Investigation delivery)
  • Good organization skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in managing and liaising with supply chain
