Carmichaels are seeking a Section Engineer to work on a Tier 1 Highways Project in South West London.
As Section Engineer you will control a section of the works, including multiple disciplines and be responsible for the management of Site Engineers in that section.
Responsibilities include:
- Produce Method Statements and Risk Assessments and undertakes periodic reviews
- Prepare and raises Temporary Works Briefs, following up to ensure timely implementation
- Undertake and mentor less experienced staff in safety audits
- Provision of ‘primary’ setting out control and recognises the optimum location for installation
- Actively uses the Specification for reference and coaches junior team members in using the Spec
- Maintain a comprehensive filing system of quality records aligned to the Project Quality Handover requirements
- Ensures that Site Engineers complete the required quality checksheets on a timely basis for the works
- Identifies and raises Technical Queries (RFIs) with possible solutions. Tracks closeout of RFIs within section
