Carmichael UK is excited to present an opportunity for a Contract Section Engineer within a prestigious highways construction company, based in Cornwall, South West.
This role, expected to last 4 months or more, offers a competitive rate of £375 - £425 per day (Ltd).
You will join a vital project—the A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross—encompassing the design and build of a new 12.5km dual carriageway. Your expertise as a Section Engineer will be crucial, as you will report directly to the Section Manager and oversee various aspects of the project, including planning, programming, and onsite coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and manage drainage plans and specifications.
- Conduct material take-offs and prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Engage with the site team for resource requirements.
- Manage setting out operations utilizing GPS and Total Station technology.
- Maintain daily documentation and quality assurance checks. - Conduct site inspections and safety assessments.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering.
- Relevant CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS certification.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team.
