Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 contractor on a major highways infrastructure project based in Gloucestershire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven engineer to support the delivery of key packages, with a focus on earthworks, roadworks and drainage, on a fast-paced and high-profile scheme. The initial contract duration is 3 months, with potential for extension.
Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of highways works, with a focus on earthworks and drainage packages
- Oversee setting out and site engineering activities
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, quality, and safety standards
- Assist with short-term planning and programme updates
- Manage subcontractors and ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications
- Maintain accurate site records, including QA documentation and as-built records
- Liaise with the Site Agent, Sub Agent, and wider project team
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Section Engineer on highways or infrastructure projects
- Strong background in earthworks and drainage
- Previous experience working with Tier 1 or principal contractors
- Good understanding of construction processes and site delivery
- CSCS card (essential)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
