We are looking for a Section Engineer on a fixed term contract to work on HS2 Enabling Works. You will report to the Senior Engineer and assist with the management of the tunnelling subcontractor. You will manage the day to day requirements of the Works Information including but not limited to the delivery of programme, ensuring compliance with safe systems of works, managing quality control and promoting sustainable construction. You will be responsible for managing the Site Engineers.

Working hours: Weekday working. Initial day shift working. From September 2020 site hours are 24/5 working. This role will be based on one week of dayshift work, one week of night shift working.

 

ey responsibilities:

·        Co-ordinate and supervise the day-to-day delivery of the scope of works in accordance with the latest accepted construction issued drawings and accepted temporary works drawings.

·        Produce, review and implement method statements, inspection and test plans

·        Maintain quality control records and a daily site diary

·        Check subcontractor setting out

·        Support the Senior Engineer in the management of the tunnelling subcontractor.

·        Support the Work Package Manager and Commercial Manager in the delivery of contract

·        Report any non-compliance to the Senior Engineer.

·        Produce and manage the 4 week lookahead and support the Senior Engineer with the 12 week lookahead.

·        Manage, supervise, train and mentor the Site Engineers team to enable them to optimise their work contribution.

  

Qualifications and experience:

·        Previous experience working on SCL Tunnelling projects

·        Previous experience in construction, experience as a Section Engineer on a civils project

·        Previous experience working with London underground

·        Setting out experience

·        Experience with CAD preferred

·        A strong work ethic and an enthusiasm to learn and develop

·        An awareness of the technical and commercial issues relevant to the works being undertaken
Must hold a CSCS card and a relevant academic engineering or construction qualification
