I am looking for a Section Engineer to work on a major highways infrastructure project that is currently being undertaken in North East Scotland. You will need to have previous experience working on highways projects and undertaking drainage works. The project is nearing its completion and they require an engineer to come on board to help manage the close out of it.
You will be required to complete outstanding work and all associated paperwork, plus assist with site operations and maintain responsibility for Engineers, Foreman and Operatives on site. You will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of tasks and activities on the mainline and side road as directed by the Agent.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Act as the main technical adviser within the remit given on site for subcontractors, tradesmen and operatives and resolve or recommend solutions to overcome operational problems, achieve commercial objectives and honour contract terms, adjusting and communicating changes to plans as appropriate.
- Prepare reports as required on the daily measure and quantification of works progress
- Completion of Quality Inspection paperwork in a timely manner
- Ensure that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications and oversee the selection and requisition of materials
- Manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the DJV
- Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the southern section
- Day to day management of the site engineers and if necessary engineering control to undertake works, including supervising and monitoring the site labour and the work of any subcontractors
- Plan the work and efficiently organise the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines
- Oversee quality control and health and safety matters on site
- Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Task briefings to ensure a Safe System of Work.
- Maintain Construction Record Dossier, site files and a diary to record operations and progress against plan
