About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Section Engineer (Structures) to join our delivery team on the HS2 project in Buckinghamshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programmes, contributing to the successful delivery of complex bridges, viaducts, and reinforced concrete structures within a high-performing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the engineering aspects of structural works (bridges, retaining walls, viaducts, culverts, etc.)

Supervise site engineers and subcontractors to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient delivery

Ensure all works comply with design specifications, method statements, and ITPs

Oversee setting out, QA documentation, and technical queries

Coordinate with design, planning, and commercial teams to ensure project alignment

Support construction management with progress reporting, risk management, and problem-solving
About You

Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering

Proven experience as a Section Engineer on major civil or infrastructure projects (HS2 experience desirable)

Strong background in structural works – bridges, viaducts, or other RC structures

Excellent understanding of engineering standards, quality assurance, and health & safety

Confident communicator with strong leadership and coordination skills
-
CSCS card and relevant safety certifications
