Our client a major tier one contractor is looking to hire a permanent Section Foreman for their £124m Major Highways Programme in Wokingham.

The project will be working with Wokingham Borough Council under the Scape National Civil Engineering and Infrastructure framework for a four year project, will include the planning, design and construction of nine vital road schemes in Wokingham

The Project includes the development and construction of access and distributor roads, plus associated structures, to four Strategic Development Locations and Barkham Bridge creating twelve thousand new housing units across Wokingham. In detail, the Project involves directly commissioned and delivered construction works at nine site locations and their integration into eight other projects being separately delivered by Developers. 

As Section Foreman:

  • Identify future requirements for setting out and communicate to Section Engineer;
  • Carry out Quality Tool Box Talks Identify Non Conformances and Technical Queries and transmit to Section Engineer;
  • Input into the production of Method Statements and Risk Assessments Provide suggestions and recommendations for Temporary Works solutions Carry out ‘mini’ and ‘visitors’ Inductions Identify potential hazards and proactively implement actions and controls Ensure all plant and small tools are adequately maintained before use Input into the production of Field Control Sheets
  • Input into weekly programme and monitor progress against KPI’s Communication of weekly programme and targets to the workforce Understands key milestones provided in Stage Programme Ensure that the appropriate level of resource is allocated to each work activity and monitor to improve efficiency;
  • Assessment of material wastage allowances and implementation of appropriate improvement actions Validation of Labour and plant records to the project cost control procedure Weekly review of small tools list;
  • Awareness of project scope and highlights items of additional work.
  • Awareness of Specification and other Contract documents Understanding of construction tolerances;
  • Understands the basic Company Protocols with regard to Accidents and Incidents investigations (e.g. to sterilize accident area and report to immediate supervisor);
  • Experience of monitoring TM switches, concrete pour dates;
  • Understands the specific terms, conditions and outputs of relevant subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Understands material wastage allowances Experience of monitoring project scope and preventing creep
