A high profile joint venture consisting of multiple leading international Civil Engineering and Construction companies are searching for a Senior Design Manager to join their team on a freelance basis.
This is a key position for the business and project where you will be overseeing a section of works between the value of £220-240m which covers Structures, Highways, Drainage and Earthworks.
Your position will be the site liaison between the office based design team and the site management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the project is progressing to specification and answering any technical queries that will occur during the project timeline.
It is vital that you establish a collaborative environment with your colleagues in order to deliver the best outcome for the project, this will be a fast paced position which will give you overall technical accountability of the coordination of all designs involving multiple design disciplines, assessing their buildability and ensuring the the coordination and integration of the permanent and key temporary works designs.
You will keep the designers updated regularly for information on the section so any changes can be amended as soon as possible and then update the site team with any changes made.
About you:
- Chartered or near chartered
- Previously worked for tier 1 contractor on a major project
- Site based design management experience (preferred but not essential)
- Very strong communication skills
- Design management on major projects, knowledge of design delivery for permanent and temporary works
