Carmichael are recruiting for an experienced Design Manager, to take care of the civils works on a major substation project for the National Grid.
Senior Civil Engineers, with experience managing designers, are also encouraged to apply.
For the first 6 months, you will be based in an office in Coventry, before moving on site in Carlisle.
Responsibilities will include -
- Leading the project design management team, ensuring all ISO 9001 requirements relating to design are fulfilled
- Manage and mentor the design management team
- Manage production of tender stage design
- Produce design scope definition document and design responsibilities matrix
- Ensure compliance to CDM regulations
Requirements for this position -
- Extensive civils experience, especially in earthworks, piling, RC structures and industrial buildings
- Experience within electrical/power environment beneficial
- Experience of national grid projects beneficial
